We continue to watch the numbers of students in our kindergarten and first grade classes. At this time, we have made the decision to have two kindergarten classes and one first grade class. We are doing our very best to be responsive to enrollment numbers and creating the best learning environment for our students and teachers. Please keep in mind that there may be changes in the class structures if we see an increase in enrollment over the next few weeks.

School supply lists were sent home on the last day of school but if you can’t find it, there are copies at the front customer service desk at WalMart.
School hours have changed for the upcoming year. The school day begins at 8:45 and ends at 3:15pm. First Students Bus Company should be publishing the bus schedule in the Ketchikan Daily News this weekend. Call 225-3806 for more information. Please send a note to school with your child on the first day of school that says how they are getting home. That will avoid last minute chaos in the office and a smoother first day of school for your child.
Point Higgins is happy to announce before and after school on-site programming for K-6th grade students. The Boys and Girls Club, in partnership with Safe School/Healthy Students, is running this program. Please see the enclosed flyer for more information or call Jennifer McCarthy at 228-7235.
